Engin Camp 2008 was a blast. better than last year's definitely. times one thousand times can. haha everyone in camp comm worked so very hard (except me obviously) from the beginning with dry runs over and over and over again. I dare say we are the BEST CAMP COMM in engine so far. HAHA and we are celebrating that well-deserved title by having timsum buffet & karaoke session together tmr!

i have to say that i am appalled i even considered not going to the camp the day before it started. :3 LIKE TOTALLY *quoting georgie yet again. hahaha*

Breathing Underwater At Night;

woo feeling happy now. went out with plain, unpainted nails and came home with pretty red ones. :) thank you, my new manicurist. her shop is located at Serangoon Avenue 1, Block 401..

owell, we were bored while watching tv plus she insisted that she loves to paint for others. i swear she paints them very nicely, so im a super satisfied customer. hoho

was at her house cos we decided to be thrifty and cheapo. HAHA we cooked our very own fried rice and side dish for dinner. :x aahaha our black sauce sausage egg fried rice was yummy right right? lol, we're well on our way to become great housewives... not. haha :3

LLH is super annoyed with me yakking on and on about the wonders of the underwater world already. :x haha what triggered her to be patient no more happened this morning when i told her that i dreamt i was diving last night. hahaha.. :o thats when all the complaints start. *shrug*

apparently she called me at 3+ am, thinking that as usual I'll be awake, but I was not. She was having some difficulty loading her sex&thecity episode, so feeling all frustrated.. she asked me what other sites host shows.. i replied:

anyway LLH and I brought BABY to a dog cafe called Pawtobello today. a dog cafe at mohammd sultan rd. its so cool la. and i seriously cant wait for the day I can actually bring my own doggie there. :) then my doggie will be Baby's only friend.. cos Baby is sooo antisocial la. just like her ownnnn.... erm haha nehmind, i dont want to be in trouble. hahaha

While We Squabble About Whether It's Oval Or Round;

Armed with bikes and an intent,

to watch some pervs and be a man.

We toured the coast with hurting butts in tow,

and envied flying objects while lying down.

All in all, a night well spent,

with pokey plants, fun and friends.

i think the new connecting paths from eastcoast to changi v really make eastcoast more appealing now. a while ago i thought our coast was boring. haha even carpark H wasnt as exciting as before. heh heh

anyway the highlight of the night was this super peaceful n ulu breakwater.. we had to cycle thru this extremely narrow trail surrounded by pokey plants which looked alot like lavender in the dark to get there. that place is sooo great! there's this sense of serenity and for once it didnt feel like we were in s'pore. hoho save for the fact that we kept watching SIA planes climb the skies while lying on the rocks. lol

so it was then when we had our backs on the rocks and face to the skies, we started our little wrangle about whether the moon was round or oval.

me: wow the moon is so round.

alex: round meh? it looks more oval..

me: it looks round leh

alex: *talks to everybody* aye, is the moon round or oval?

kx: i think it looks oval.

ah hah, so we concluded that like yin&yang, female & male differ. girls think it's round, guys think it's oval. okay, then we wondered to ourselves.. what will nic yong choose if he was with us? round perhaps? hahahhaa, then kx got the greatest idea of all.. he whipped out his phone & called nicholas..

My body's clock is certified holiday-screwed.

I now go to bed at around 8 or 9am and wake up around 4 or 5pm.

somehow i'm just too weak to accept any criticisms readily enough. i dont know why i get so upset. hence i made the avoid-people decision. it's easier that way.

anyways i need more buddies

I. - Cheeeeelin Awwwt Buddies
Requirements: All applicants to be keen to chill out at all times. Must also love coffee.

Applicants should possess an adventurous and cheerful disposition to try out new dancefloors, and should not be easily affected by monthly cramps or hyperactive dancers nearby. Potential buddies should also possess motivational skill to talk other bored and reluctant buddies into dancing.

III. - Exercising Buddies
Requirements: Physique is not a factor. Applicants must have strong ablility to step out of air-conditioning zone, and must be motivated boundary pushers who work well under pressure. Interested parties should also possess an open mind to try out new sports, and recommend cheaper options to expensive ones like diving and wakeboarding. Only night joggers/cyclists and badminton lovers may apply.

IV. - Money Saving Buddies
Requirements : Those with effective money-saving and quick-money (non-prostitutional) strategies to share. Must be strict and disciplined with self and buddies to abide rigid measures. A never-say-die attitude is a plus point. Individuals with thrift yet cool shopping experiences are accepted immediately.

V. - Travelling Buddies
Requirements : All applicants to be 18 years and above for easy club entry allowance. Must be open to travelling to countries besides Bangkok. Must be able to try roadside food and only gung-ho, enthusiastic and fun-loving individuals will be shortlisted. Applicants interested in voluntourism such as teaching english to Vietnamnese ophans will be given priority.

contentment is when you sift through all the negative junks and zero in on the more positive things.

considering that some issues are prospective ones and whether or not they do surface in the future, I don't have any control over that and agonising doesn't help at all. neither does wet blankets. i know i have to be fully aware of the consequences. the inevitable hiccups in the path which i am going to choose. the probable regret and resentment of my choice thereafter. but only time will tell as i have no answers to those questions.

so meanwhile, i shall not try to win anyone over. i shan't try to wipe away that piece of snob and cynic that is dangling from their noses, and ultimately i won't try to convince people into believing that this is the best for me and that i'm not making a huge mistake.

the realisation of that itself makes me wonder, perhaps what they say about dark clouds and silver linings are true. or maybe that's just how life works out on its own with cause, effect, choice, fate, circumstance, passion working like interlocking cogs in a clockwork mechanism.

its not sad that i've wasted some time. its not sad that the dollars and cents might be lesser in the future. its just sad that not everyone will pat on your back and give you a nod. all this could come off as being a tad too stubborn, but i think there's a fine line that separates adamance and persistence.

Hey you guys should really try out Piper's Pies at Bukit Timah, before 6th Avenue. Its Piper's Special is like super yummmmy - big juicy tender beef chunks, with a tinge of black pepper!

its definitely filling n enough for lunch. but you shouldnt get the meal tho, $2.50 in addition for lays/not-v-nice-salad n a drink, not quite worth it. haha

anyways I was with lihua, linden and her cousin NANA. haha well, hua's nickname is wawa. so linden made this funny joke about.. who is haha in the family? -.- haha okaays, twas hilarious :) mmm since I had this 3 hr break, after pipers i went with them to Island Creamery near HCJC, nana's sch. The place is like so cool, it sells exotic icecream flavours! tehtarik, kahluo, nutella, puluo hitam.. bahh totally exotic right?

so i ordered kahluo, nana had tehtarik, lihua baked alaska and linden nutella. after eating for about 10 minutes..

hua: i think you are having teh tarik.

me: *staring at my half-gone icecream and pokes into nana's icecream to taste again*

OMG!

HAHA so nana and i actually ate half of our icecream without realising its the wrong one! imagine if lihua didn't mention it, nana would prolly have gotten drunk and sprouted nonsense later on. lol actually i couldnt really taste the kahluo and that explains why it all happened.

This show is making my eyes all puffy and ugly. I cried buckets for the whole part when they told him he got the job. Instantaneously and incontrollably, the tears just streamed down my cheeks. and you might just think that i am mad cos i'm still crying right now. it was just so revolting. so overwhelming. you should watch this.

this genre is my favourite :) hana, you can say i'm a drag or whatever.. but i love it. and at times like this when i react so strongly to a film, it prolly did some very good reflection of the unsatisfactoriness of my life.

i'm officially back now that MY LAPPY IS TOTALLY ALIVE AND KICKIN! XD

more than 3 weeks ago, my laptop was so cute and brilliant that it gave me a blue matrix screen like this one

haha okay, apparently your friend here is so pro that she burnt both the cpu and motherboard and poor fujitsu had to replace them w/o charges since it's under warranty hahaha.

srsly, i dont know what i did to it. hello i bought it last august only leh, isnt it too exaggerating that i managed to destroy my entire laptop within half a yr? haha, but now you know who to find if you want fujitsu to fix your laptop asap before the warranty ends. :x

anyways, im feeling damn super horrijibly shitty now la. my lungs feel like they're being flooded with phlegm making it impossible for me to breathe, and currently no blood is flowing thru my nose cos it feels so numb and i cant even smell my hot coffee. zz :(

oh BY THE WAY, we got 4th placing in IFG Badminton! XD YAYYYY! haha good enough for me laah tho bronze was like just a grasp away. we didnt have a single IVP player caaaaan. haha while the other teams were formed by a godzillion number of them.

hahahaa anyway i had so much fun thru out the entire season of matches cos of my giggle-partner ruizhen :) we laughed so hard and so much that i thought i will never stop laughing. lol

wow i miss 2006. it's a much better year than 2007 man. :)

okay so back to topic... haha so the silly thing i did last last christmas was to get all drunk and spew nonsense to everybody. ke, some i meant it, some i dont :x poor lihua n linden had to carry me to her mum's car n to their home. :|

It was terrible cos i had to wake up early to go to work the next day. i dint even change out of my clothes la, just slept. eww. haha but u cant expect them to help me change too.

seriously, drinking too much is the main cause to our hazy state of mind. and it wasn't so bad, you know. at least, what i felt all the time then was a sense of serene bliss, because I was totally oblivious to any problems at all(and practically everything else) and even if I did have problems, they slipped my mind. I couldn't piece anything together properly and I couldn't think straight. Even if I did think, my thoughts were a myriad of incoherent, half-formed nonsense.

I can imagine the whole thing sounds really stupid but honestly, it was a rather lovely, out-of-the-world feeling. but the whole short term memory thing that goes along with it is abit worrying. :/

however put that aside, i totally embrace the somewhat intoxicated state of mind in which everything is always peachy good.

It'd be interesting to have a female U.S. president, no? tho I wld say Obama looks more gangho and his policies sound more feasible than Clinton's. Her belief in forcing people to have health insurance through enforcement mechanisms, such as charging pple who dont get healthcare and fining them, does not spell helping to me cos it means more $ have to come out of pple's paychecks. Obama on the other hand believes making healthcare more affordable brings checkmate-o (saying it in the L way, hiak hiak), which i totally agree.

but then again, what matters most is that these senators accomplish what they set out to do in their presidency. after watching Lions for Lambs(2007), that boring political show casting Tom Cruise, i interpreted that politicians are all talk and no action. haha true?

Maybe that's seemingly true in US but what about SG? hmm our Prime Minister....

oh come on, we know our dear government's competency right? It has never been a total let down. Nono, not even something so big like this time's MISSING JI dude can disappoint us, right? DPM Wong's dismissal of speculations on how that shortie escaped implies that we singaporeans should just sit back relax and believe in our million-dollar ministers that what they want us to hear will be revealed soon enough.

OK. i'm sry, forgive me. haha i was like totally bored while doing differential eqs so i decided to watch the senators debate on youtube.

What interest me in watching them is that you cant see that happening in sg. well i know the reason why. we are in a total different system, nono i dont mean dictatorship hahaha, and our country dont seem to have people in the political arena with too contrasting views and policies. (ahem maybe cos most voices of oppositions were diminished by the influential and oppressive onegangshow) haha.

The thing about Western democracies is that their leaders are the ones who are accounting for every tiny weeny bit. For example the Bush admin is held responsible for the mess in Iraq, not US itself. Being asian descent, obviously we act differently. After losing a limping terrorist, we dont say "HEY Minister, it's your fault!" and "we demand a pay cut from you!" or "would you leave please?" haha of cos not, we are not selfish individuals n are not as chaotic as Western governments, we decide that it's the nation's fault that the terrorist fled. Citing from Minister Yeo that the country will bounce back from this incident. uh huh yes, SG the country which lost the terrorist. right on man. :)
